Depolaris is built and edited by Sandhya Misra — avid reader, writer, published poet, and an undergraduate student of journalism and English.

I started Depolaris out of frustration with a gap I couldn't stop seeing. Around me, almost no one was willing to genuinely engage with political ideas different from their own — not argue with them, not caricature them, just read them. And I couldn't read the news myself without wondering, every single day, what the intention behind the source was. What was I being sold along with the facts? Depolaris is the tool I wished existed: one place where the same story sits under every lens at once, where the framing is made visible instead of swallowed, and where the reader — not the outlet — gets to do the judging.

Depolaris is currently a one-person newsroom with an AI analysis desk: every published story passes human editorial review, and the methodology those reviews follow is public. The mission comes before the business — no ads, no outrage optimisation, no selling reader data, ever.
